BCM Storytelling Chair by Dominika Lipniewska
About the Creation
For the Haringey Feast, artist and illustrator Dominika Lipniewska led a drop-in workshop for families at Bruce Castle Museum and Archive to draw on collective ideas and designs for a storytelling chair with the theme of identity.
‘The Story of Me’ workshop encouraged fun in creating different types of self-portraits, sharing likes, talents, favourite things to do and quirks that made young people unique. Some used chalk on the ground in creating their self-image; others cut out shapes and stuck them together, talking about who we are and what makes us – well, us!
Dominika meticulously transferred their drawings onto foam, cutting and arranging them to create this exquisite chair.
