About
A feast of culture & creativity took place in Haringey in 2023!
Haringey is the borough of creativity, innovation and progress.
It is the birthplace of broadcasting, the home of Britain’s first ever film studio, the place where the Penny Post stamp was invented and where the man who named our clouds lived and worked. World-renowned musicians and artists are from, and based in, Haringey.
Haringey Feast brought together Haringey’s creators, cultural organisations, and residents to celebrate everything creative our unique borough has to offer. A spectacular free celebration of Haringey’s creativity took place at Alexandra Palace on Sunday 19 November 2023.
In the lead up to the feast, free workshops and maker-classes led by local creatives saw local people creating the decorations and performances for the day. They were held across the borough - in schools, libraries, care homes, arts venues, community centres and more. People from across the borough came together to feast in Haringey’s creativity and enjoy all things...made by Haringey!
On the day, large banquet- style tables were set up in the East Court at Alexandra Palace to welcome guests to the three uniquely curated programmes which happened on the day. Haringey Feast featured performances, art, culture and soup. The recipes were written by local community groups exclusively for the Feast.
This was a partnership project codesigned with cultural organisations and creatives across the borough. Read more about our Project Partners.
Haringey Feast was funded by a Mayor of London Cultural Impact Award, as part of the Mayor of London’s Borough of Culture programme.
