Shadow Puppets Film by Save the Warehouses
About the Creation
Save The Warehouses created a shadow puppetry film telling the full story of the warehouses at Omega Works and in the Haringey Warehouse District. The film was screened at Haringey Feast.
Working in collaboration with 3K Art House, this project charted the timeline from the historic piano factory to the creative hub of today. Local stories were collected to champion Haringey’s cultural diversity, and advocate for the preservation of these unique spaces and community through inclusive art.
About the Artist
Save The Warehouses is a grassroots, community-led organisation fighting for the recognition and preservation of warehouse communities across London.
Since 2021 we have been artistically and inclusively resisting the luxury-flat redevelopment of Omega Works by uniting and empowering community members to advocate for their local area.
Save The Warehouses demystifies the planning process to empower more people to engage in democratic decision making; connecting marginalised people with changemakers and advocating for community-led placemaking initiatives.
This project is led by Caitlin Strongarm, a placemaking artist, community organiser and maker who melds art with activism to support local communities.

About the Community
For this film, Save the Warehouses worked with local communities and artists at 3K Art House.
3K Art House is radically reimagining what a home can be. An accessible community space, resource hub, flexible event venue and immersive art installation, 3K is a warehome at the heart of the Omega Works warehouses in Haringey.
