Neck Warmers by Romany Taylor

About the Creation

RomTingz (aka Romany Taylor) knitted neck warmers incorporating plant dyed yarns and elements of crochet. The neck warmers were used by guests at the Haringey Feast to keep toasty warm!

Romany ran free vegetable dyeing and crochet workshops at Gaunson House and Hornsey Library, and was supported by illustrator-designer Maria Centola.

Using British sourced lambswool that is renowned for its insulating properties, Romany created functional pieces of wearable art, using pattern and colour to reflect the vibrancy and diversity of the borough. The neck warmers become one whole image when brought together.
