Workshops 10am to 12pm and 1 to 3pm.

Come to learn how to make an eco-friendly lantern with Willow branches and wet strength paper with Justine Berthault and Andy D’Cruz.

Those simple materials are very versatile and therefore allow for many creative possibilities. Willow Lanterns are used across the world for various cultural celebrations such as carnivals and lantern festivals. The ones made in these workshops will adorn Alexandra Palace for Haringey Feast!

During the workshop you will be working for the most part in pairs, as it makes the process easier and more fun. It requires a little bit of dexterity but is suitable for all abilities and ages, from 6 to 100 years!

No need to book, just turn up!

For the Haringey Feast legacy, we will be donating the creations made through the workshops to local community, after they have been used at Alexandra Palace on Sunday 19 November. Care homes, schools, children’s homes and charities will fully benefit from this cultural celebration of creativity in which items are made by the community for the community.

As a participant you will not be able to take your creation home after the workshop.
