About the Creation

For the Haringey Feast,Sian co-created one storytelling chair with students from St Michael's Primary School and another inspired by her own artistic practice.

Plastique by Siân’s 2 chairs reference the environmental heritage of Haringey’s waterways - from Tottenham’s River Lea, the Moselle from Highgate to Tottenham and the New River from Bowes Park, Hornsey and Harringay.

Siân’s chair design raised awareness through her upcycling artistic practice and storytelling to highlight the importance of preserving Haringey's rivers and the detrimental impact of single-use waste on our local waterways.

For the community-made chair, Plastique by Siân also delivered a workshop for 30 students of Year 5 at St Michael’s Primary School at Bruce Castle Museum and Archive.

About the Artist

PLASTIQUE By Siân operates out of Gaunson Creative Studios, situated in South Tottenham and is run by sustainable artist, Siân Naomi Dorman, who has a profound passion for sustainable practices and an unwavering commitment to reducing waste through upcycling.
